Sharilyn Denise Ryan, age 59, of Seneca, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Morris Hospital with her family by her side. Sharilyn was born October 31, 1962, in Denver, CO, to Dennis and Sharon (DeJaynes) Kennaugh.
Sharilyn lived her life in multiple locations; Denver Metro area from 1962 to 1981 (Sharilyn graduated in 1981 from Pomona Senior High in Arvada, CO); Pontiac, IL, from 1982 to 1985 (Sharilyn met her future husband, Michael); Greeley, CO, 1986 to 1996 (Nicole was born 1988, Sharilyn and Michael Wed in 1991 and son Scott was born in 1993); Krakow, Poland 1997 to 2000 (Sharilyn learned to enjoy red wine); Portland, OR 2000 to 2002; Seneca, IL 2003 to present (Grandchildren, Maci, Irvin, and Paige were born).
Spending time with her family including her three beautiful grandchildren was Sharilyn’s greatest joy. Her favorite hobbies included knitting, flower arranging, gardening, shopping (with a Starbucks coffee), decorating the house, reading a good book, fishing, and camping with the grandkids along with traveling and exploring new locations. She loved collecting polish pottery, playing Blackjack, attending concerts and dancing with friends, and of course enjoying a glass of red wine at the end of a busy day. Sharilyn was employed as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist helping many over the years to find their way back to getting a full night’s sleep.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Ryan; her children, Nikki (Dustin) Shelton and Scott Ryan (Bianka Gonzales); grandchildren, Maci, Irvin and Paige; mother, Sharon (Robert) Paris; stepmother, Judith Kennaugh; siblings, Ronda Kennaugh and Jimmy (Lori) Kennaugh; mother-in-law, Phyllis Ryan; sister-in-law, Diane (Nick) Rehnberg; two step-brothers, Donnie (Kelly) Paris and John Paris; one step-sister, Julie Jeppesen and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her father, Dennis Kennaugh; father-in-law, Joseph Ryan; and step-brother, Ronnie Paris.
As it was Sharilyn's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life is being planned for a later date and will be announced as information becomes available.
