Photo: Fay E. Male of Morris 1929 - 2022

Fay E. Male of Morris passed away peacefully Monday December 19, 2022, at her home at the age of 93. She was born in Morris on June 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Reuben and Ruth (Johnson) Baker.

Fay was a consummate bridge player winning several first-place trophies over the years. She may have had to cancel other events but not usually bridge. She also loved to cook and bake making many gifts out of her homemade peanut brittle. Her skill with a recipe, especially chocolate chip cookies, amazed her children and grandchildren.

Fay could be found in her gardens most spring and summer mornings, she loved flowers. Her favorites were a multitude of irises of varying colors. The first memory of her children was her husband Bud and Fay roller-skating. To watch them as they flew across the floor doing one dance move after another made it seem as if they had wings on their skates.

Fay is survived by her loving family; her children Lynn (Rick) Randolph and Scott (Rita) Male; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her sister Evelyn Trenter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Reuben and Ruth; her brother Ronald “Speed” Baker, husband Harold “Bud” Male; son Clark Male and granddaughter Tara Cheskie.

A memorial visitation for Fay will be held on January 7, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Morris. A celebration of Fay’s Life will follow at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
