Troy A Kief, 59, of Morris passed away Friday afternoon March 11, 2022, at Morris Hospital.

 

Born May 9, 1962, in Castro Valley, CA he is the son of Frances (nee Hoyt) Kief and the late Allen Kief of Morris.  At the age of four, Troy’s family moved to Morris where he would attend the Morris Schools graduating from Morris High School with the class of 1980.  He was very active in 4 H and FFA while in school.  He went on to attend Southern Missouri College and return to Morris to operate his own business Kief Tile and K J McKeon’s Pub.

 

Troy enjoyed the outdoors where he would fish, morel mushroom hunting and trapping.  Troy’s love was his family and friends throughout the community of Morris.

 

Troy is survived by his mother Fran, his daughters: Olivia and Layne and their mother Terri.  His brother, Grant (Carolyn) of Florida and his nieces, Carly, Lexy and Audrey.

 

He is preceded in death by his father Allen on January 5, 2022, and his sister Amy.

 

Preferred memorials may be made in Troy’s name to the First United Methodist Church of Morris or the National Kidney Foundation at 215 W. Illinois St. Suite 1C Chicago, IL 60654

 

A visitation for Troy will be held Tuesday March 15, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the U. C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home located at 301 West Washington Street in Morris. 

 

Immediately following will be a Celebration of Troy’s life at 6:00 pm officiated by Deborah Kang of the First United Methodist Church. Troy will be laid to rest next to his father on Wednesday morning at Evergreen Cemetery.
