Richard F. DePung, 71, of Morris, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at his home.

Born December 2, 1947 in Morris, he was the son of Richard and Loretta(Girot)DePung.  He graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 1965.  He married Linnell Hiles on November 18, 1967 and they lived most of their married life in Morris.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  For many years he was co-owner of Eco Water- Crystal Clear in Morris.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linnell; one son, Brian DePung of Morris; one daughter, Sara(Adam)Cherven of Marseilles; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn(Joe) Rigazio and Kristin Stump; two great grandchildren, Hailey Cherven and Marcello Rigazio; one sister, Patricia(David)Barry of Morris; one niece, Kelly Misewicz of Diamond; one nephew, Tom Barry of Morris and several cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Rich enjoyed music and played the guitar in the “Night Shift” Band.  He especially liked spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or to an animal shelter of your choice.

Memorial services will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Sathuri and Rev. Laura Wilson-Underwood officiating.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
