Richard “Dick” Friddle, age 77, of Coal City, IL. passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 28, 1944 in Wilmington, IL to William and Camellia (nee Vigna) Friddle. He married Diane Bannon on February 8, 1964 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, IL. Dick retired after working for 43 years at Ford Stampina Plant in Chicago Heights. He was a longtime member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge #241 and a member of Silver Oaks Golf Course where he was an avid golfer and made many dear friends. He was a master story teller. But what Dick enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. We tried our best to tell his story, but we know he would have told it better.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane Friddle; his four children, Rick (Suzi) Friddle of Braidwood; Mike (Joy) Friddle, Scott (Deanne) Friddle and Kristi (Rob) Hausman, all of Coal City; an honorary son, Ken “Rooster” Bannon; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; his siblings, Eleanor (Bob) Valek of Columbus, IN; Bill (Lydia) Friddle of Gardner, Mary (Bob) Gibson of Braidwood and Cammy Foland of Wilmington. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Camellia Friddle; his in-laws, Kenneth and Dorothy Bannon, his brothers- in- law, Ken “Butch” Bannon, Ray “Skip” Bannon, Will Bannon and Robert “Matt” Foland .

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL. 60416 A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street, Coal City, IL. 60416 with Father Joshua Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Sample Cemetery in Morris.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Friddle, Scott Friddle, Ken Bannon, Austin Friddle, Alex Friddle, John Hutman, Rob Hausman and Logan Hausman.
