Rhonda Louise (Andrae) Lawford came into this world on December 25, 1962 in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Ronald and Joanne (Kriesel) Andrae. Rhonda left us on March 3, 2021 to be with her husband Jason and her many fur babies.
Rhonda graduated from John Hersey High School, Arlington Heights, IL in 1981. She then went on to Robert Morris College in Carthage, IL and graduated in 1982.
After college, Rhonda worked as a legal secretary and as a data processor for a trucking company. In June 1993, Rhonda started working for the Will County Sheriff’s office as an adult detention administrative clerk. June of 1997, Rhonda started working for the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department as a telecommunicator. The Sheriff’s Department Telecommunicators and the Morris Police Department Telecommunicators combined in 2012 to become the Grundy County E.T.S.B. Rhonda was due to retire in July, 2021 after a 24-year career as a telecommunicator, a job she loved because of the people she worked with. Her coworkers were her family.
Weather permitting, Rhonda loved to spend time riding her purple motorcycle. She loved touring this great country with her late husband Jason. She had hopes of returning to the northwestern states after retirement. She also wanted to explore some of the southern states even though she didn’t like the heat. She had family (ex-coworkers) who lived there. Rhonda loved to spend time laughing with her friends. She had a great sense of humor. She was very generous and genuine. She would give someone the shirt off her back, go without herself, and never complain about it. Rhonda never met an animal she didn’t want to love on.
Rhonda was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Jason and her many fur babies. She was also preceded by her parents.
Rhonda leaves behind her one fur baby, Tonka. She also leaves behind many friends that consider her family.
