Edna Louise Nelson, 92, of Morris, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at The Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris. Born April 10, 1928 in Morris, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Maude (Jackson) Trenter.
Educated in Morris Schools, Edna graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1946. She married Nolan O. Nelson on January 31, 1953 in the First United Methodist Church in Morris. Nolan preceded her in death on November 9, 2012.
Edna and Nolan owned and operated Sandwich Grain Company in Sandwich IL for 27 years and together they also farmed in Saratoga Township for many years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Grundy County Bureau where she served as President. She also served on the first Grundy County 4-H Fair Board.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Alan) Muir, and her son, Sidney (Debra) Nelson, all of Morris; two grandchildren: Michael (Jessica) Nelson and Daniel (Jessica) Nelson; and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Wayne Trenter.
Private graveside services will be held in Saratoga Cemetery in Morris.
Memorial contributions may be made in Edna’s name to the First United Methodist Church of Morris or to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
