Donna J. (Ballard) Gordon, 71, passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband and daughters on December 13, 2020.

Donna was born on July 22, 1949 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was raised in Morris, Il from the age of 3, where she attended Morris schools, graduating in 1967. After high school she received her beauty license and became a beautician. Donna married the love of her life, Daniel “Dan” Gordon in October 1986. They were partners in every sense, starting a business D & D Hauling in 2004.

Donna enjoyed cooking for her family as well as the regulars at Bud’s Tap, watching Hallmark and Lifetime movies, the casino boats and trying to get the best deal at garage sales. She loved her girls, Lou Ann and Jamie, being a Grandma and riding around with Danny looking at the scenery the most. Donna touched many lives with her kindness and giving spirit and always remained optimistic even in difficult times.

Donna is survived by her mother Wilma Ballard; her loving husband Dan; beloved sister Linda Shannon; daughters Lou Ann (Mark) Delrose and Jamie (Matthew) Taylor; stepsons Rich (Lynn) Gordon and Jody (Jean) Gordon; step daughter Jenny Byerley; grandchildren Sarah Sparks, Benjamin and Shelby Doss, Jessica Gordon Dunham, Erica Gordon, Allie Gordon, Andy Gordon and Gillian Byerley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Kenneth E. Ballard; grandson Derek Sparks and Missy, her beloved dog.

A visitation for Donna will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. The celebration of Donna’s life will follow at 1:00 pm, officiated by Kathy Watland. Burial will follow at Sample Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 requirements, safe social distancing will be required, and visitors are asked to wear masks during the services.
