Donald A. Hatz, 76, loving husband and father of three children, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020. He was born October 14, 1944 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL, the son of the late James and Lois (Johnson) Hatz. His siblings are Linda Rogers and James Hatz, Jr.

Raised in New Lenox, Donald served in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969. He married Melanie Irwin on June 15, 1974.

Donald enjoyed taking sightseeing trips, gardening with his family, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing cards with his dearest friends. He was loved by so many and his kind compassionate spirit will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie; three children, David (Angela) Hatz, Deborah Hatz, and Diane Hatz; and six grandchildren: Katelyn, Zachary and Kaylee Ludvigsen, and Ashley, Joseph, and David Hatz II.

A visitation for Donald will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris, then proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church at 600 East Jackson Street in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Jason Stone presiding.  Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in New Lenox.

Due to COVID-19 requirements, safe social distancing will be required, and visitors are asked to wear masks during the services.
