Debra A. Grega

Age 64 of Pontiac and formerly of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2019.

Born February 4, 1955 in Joliet, Illinois, Debra Ann is the daughter of Hazel (née Miller) Grega and the late Joseph Grega, Sr. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1973. Debbie was the owner and operator of Exquisite Designs Salon and Spa in Shorewood for 17 years, where she showcased her attention to detail "on point". She was a member of Coal City United Methodist Church, as well as Coal CIty Area Club. Debbie had a love of shopping and fashion, she was one who loved dogs, especially chocolate labs. She enjoyed the warm climate, and took pleasure in tending to her flowers and floating in the pool.

Debbie will be most remembered for her ability to touch so very many lives. She had the gift to connect with others, and the natural hospitality to be able to make strangers feel comfortable and at home. Debbie never knew a stranger, and though she will be dearly missed, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to shine bright in the hearts and lives of all who knew her.

Survivors include her mother Hazel Grega of Coal City; loving daughter, Haley (Charles) Phillips of Wilmington; her life partner and the father of her daughter, John Florey of Pontiac; one grandson, Ayden Phillips, and one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Karen Grega and one nephew, Brian Grega, both of Diamond.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Grega, Sr.; one great aunt, Hazel Kofoid, and two chocolate labs: Molly and Cali.
