Daniel Lee Moreno, age 44, of Braidwood, IL. passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Foster G. McGaw – Loyola Hospital. Dan was born October 29, 1975 in Morris, IL. to Pedro “ Pete” and Barbara (nee Howard) Moreno. He grew up in Wilmington and graduated with the Wilmington High School Class of 1995. He became a heavy equipment operator in 1998 with IUOE Local #150.
Dan enjoyed all that the outdoors had to offer. His passion was motocross and he was a regular racer at the Joliet Motorsports Park. His enthusiasm with the outdoors continued with boat racing, hockey, fishing and carpentry. He was also a talented artist. Dan lit up a room with his smile! He was known to his friends as “Swivel Hips” because of his love of dancing, especially to oldies music like the Rat Pack and Patsy Cline. He was also a lover of animals. But Dan’s greatest joys were his family and his fiance’ Nicolette along with the three special girls he shared his life with.
Dan is survived by his parents Pedro “Pete” and Barbara Moreno of Moore Haven, FL.; his fiance’ Nicolette Russotti and her three daughters Mia, Lily and Piper, all of Braidwood; his grandmother Constance Nichols of Southern Illinois; his sister Connie (Paul) Yokley of MO.; his brothers Pete (Debra) Moreno of Peotone and Miguel “Mike”(Chrissy) Moreno of Bonfield, IL.; his nieces and nephews, Kayla (Jesse) Lewis, Kameron Ganger and Karsyn, Mason, Milo, Dominic and Kai Moreno; his aunt Victoria (Roy) Gough of AZ.; his uncle Wesley Dean (Marsha) Howard of CA. and numerous cousins.
