Curtis R. Warren, 91, of Morris, IL passed away peacefully at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox on February 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Curtis was born in Flora, IL on November 4, 1931, to his parents William and Anna (Forfang) Warren. He attended Flora Schools and joined into the Army his sophomore year of high school to be able to support his family. Curtis did end up getting his GED and served in the Army from 1946-1948. In 1959, he married the love of his life Tina Darlington in Joliet, IL. Together they have spent 63 beautiful years. After the Army, he worked for Caterpillar, then he was in the union as a laborer, and eventually became a union carpenter. He was in the union for over 35 years and was able to retire at the age of 62, in 1993. Curtis enjoyed over 30 years of his retirement. Going horseback riding with his wife was one of his favorite things to do, as well as traveling with his children and their families on numerous family vacations throughout those years. They belonged to many horseback riding clubs, taking many camping trips and going trail riding with the horses. Above all, he was a family man and loved spending time with them. Especially, attending the grandkids sporting events.
Curtis was a big animal lover, from dogs to horses he loved all animals. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, as well as John Wayne, John Deere, and Johnny Cash. For a living, he was a carpenter, but his passion was farming. Curtis was the kind of man who always put others before himself, even towards the end of his life, he just wanted to make sure his boys were going to take care of his beloved wife.
Survived by his wife Tina Warren; Children, Patsy (special friend, Frank Lasser) Henson, Robert (Mary) Warren, Timothy (Nancy) Warren, and William (Lynette) Warren; Grandchildren, Deirdre (Andy) Klein, Christopher(Stacy) Henson and Rita (Ken) Trapp, Leigha (Manny) Urdaneta, Alexis Warren, Jenna (Tremayne) Glover, Rachel (William) Stover, Brandon (Jennifer) Warren, Lucas (Leah) Warren, Tasha (Jon) Kennedy, Alisha Warren, Zachary (Jenna) Warren, and Jacob Warren; Great-grandchildren, Evan Klein, Caitlin Klein, Ethan Lake, Abriel Lake, Emery Henson, Knox Henson, Elle Henson, Antonio (Mikayla) Rivas, Katerina (Dalton) Williams, Breanna and Taylor Glover, Anthony Warren, Alexzis Stover, Zack Stover, Jason Stover, Gabriel Benavides, Airis Kennedy, Addison Kennedy, Reign Kennedy, Olivia Warren, Isaiah Gonzalez, and Brooks Warren; Great-great grandchildren, Ellie Warren and Georgia Williams; Siblings, James (Nancy) Warren and Kathryn Daniels; Many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Robert, Gaylen, and Jack Warren, Genevieve Richmond, Hazel Colclasure, and Betty Current, and great-grandson, Ryder Kennedy.
A visitation for Curtis will be held Friday February 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at UC Davis Callahan Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will begin at 12:00 PM officiated by Celebrant Carol Walker. Burial will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Morris, IL along with military honors by the Morris Color Guard.
