Brian A. Bexson “Boomer” age 58, of South Wilmington, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL, due to a surgical complication. 

Brian was the first born son of George and Donna (nee Yedlicka) Bexson on January 15, 1963 at St. James Hospital in Pontiac, IL.  Brian attended Gardner Grade School and then went to Gardner South Wilmington High School, graduating in 1981.  He participated in many sports such as basketball, baseball, track, wrestling, and boxing.  Brian worked for Marketti’s Grocery Store, Kelce Deer Farm, cleaned carpets, furniture, and cars, walked beans for farmers, and most recently Westside Rentals for 21 years until their closing in April 2003.  Brian enjoyed visiting with friends, neighbors and relatives and bringing gifts to older people.  He liked to hear stories about his grandpa Tony when he ran the Circle Inn Tavern.  Everyone in twelve counties knows Brian “Boomer” Bexson because of his big heart and contagious cackle of a laugh.  Boomer earned his nick name in grade school when he hit 3 homers out of the park in one game.

Surviving are his parents, George and Donna, of Gardner, IL; brother, Pat Bexson of South Wilmington; sister, Teresa Bexson of Garnder.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, George and Teresa Bexson, Sr. and Anton and Sara Yedlicka; uncles Joe Skuban, LaVerne Bersano, and Tony Yedlicka

Visitation for Brian will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Monday, March 22, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. 

Funeral services will also be at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jan Chandler officiating.

Attendees are required to wear face coverings, follow social distancing guidelines, due to the capacity requirements please be brief with your condolences to allow other guests to pay their final respects.

Interment will follow at the Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville, IL. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be directed to the Church of Hope in Gardner, IL or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
