Armanette M. Fannin, 97, of Morris, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her bedside on Tuesday evening August 31, 2021.
Born February 5, 1924, in Vanceburg, Ky, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elsie (Horsley) Kennard.
On April 8, 1941, she married Kermit Fannin in Vanceburg, Kentucky, he preceded her on December 28, 2001. Armanette worked as a waitress in many of the local restaurants. She enjoyed working on embroidery. She liked cooking especially Sunday breakfasts of biscuits and gravy that were everyone’s favorite. She liked playing cards, especially Hand & Foot. More than anything, she loved her family and spending as much time with as possible.
Armanette is survived by her six daughters, Carolyn (Roger) Conley of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Sue (Jim) Murphy of Morris, Brenda Donnelly of Morris, Naomi Wassgren of Henderson, Arkansas, Jackie (Ken) Fosen of Morris and Tammy (Jess) Alvarez of Morris; 81 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren; and her 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kermit; her son Bill; grandsons Kevin and Nick and son in laws Virgil, Carl, Frank and Chuck.
A visitation for Armanette will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the New Community Christian Church located at 705 East Washington Street in Morris. A celebration of Armanette’s life will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Kevin Yandell. Due to CDC guidelines, we are requesting guests to wear facial masks for visitation and funeral service. Burial will follow at Mazon Brookside Cemetery.
