Our sister station WCSJ reports that the Grundy County Health Department has now announced the second case of COVID-19 in Grundy County.

This second resident is a female in her 40s. Public health officials are identifying and working with all close contacts of the case.

The first case in Grundy County was announced on Monday.

The resident is a female in her 30s.

Officials say testing at local hospitals is currently based on presented symptoms including a fever and/or signs or symptoms of lower respiratory illness, such as cough and shortness of breath, and epidemiological risk factors including contact and travel history.

Symptomatic persons should consult their health care professional for medical guidance.

Health officials continued to urge social distancing and to follow the stay at home order in effect.
