A 35-year-old Channahon man died in a motorcycle crash that occurred on Interstate 80 between Seneca and Morris on Sunday.

The crash occurred around around 3:15 p.m.

Grundy County Coroner John Callahan says that the deceased, Nathan Oliver Carroll, was traveling eastbound with a group of motorcycles. At this time, it is unclear as to what caused Carroll to lose control of his motorcycle.

Callahan said the motorcycle then went down and traveled over 300 feet before coming to a rest. Carroll was ejected off of the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner Callahan states Carroll was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Grundy County Coroner's Office and Illinois State Police are investigating the accident.
