The Minooka Police Department arrested a Crest Hill woman for stealing items and getting into a serious crash.  Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said 34-year-old Yvette Mannie allegedly stole more than $600 worth of items from a business in the 2000 block of Ridge Road in Minooka around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st.

After leaving the store, the manager was allegedly threatened and punched in the face by Mannie outside the business. Meyer said Mannie then fled and was pulled over in the 1,000 block of Ridge Road.

Meyer said as an officer was talking to the male driver outside the vehicle, Mannie jumped into the driver seat and fled the scene. Mannie drove away at a high rate of speed, then lost control rolling the vehicle three times before it came to a stop.

Meyer said then Mannie fled the scene on foot, but was arrested a short time later in some nearby bushes. Mannie was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police, Driving While License Suspended, Obstructing/Resisting, Battery, Assault, Felony Retail Theft, Motor Vehicle Theft and on three Will County warrants.

She was charged with Possessing a Stolen Vehicle, a class two felony; Retail Theft, a class three felony and driving while license suspended. Mannie remains in the Grundy County Jail on a $,5000 bond.
