An out-of-state woman was arrested by the Illinois State Police for allegedly dealing several pounds of cannabis at a gas station near Interstate 80 and Route 178 in Utica early Wednesday morning.
Meghan Tighe, 35, of Cobbe, California was charged with manufacturing and delivering more than 5000 grams of cannabis, a class X felony. The charge is non-probationable and carries a prison sentence from 6 to 30 years.
The Illinois State Police said they found 80 pounds of marijuana and 94 cannabis vape cartridges inside the vehicle following detection by a drug sniffing dog. This comes after police encountered suspicious behavior with Tighe’s vehicle at the gas station.
Tighe remains in the LaSalle County Jail on a $2 million bond.
