The Seneca Village Council has a new commissioner. Seneca Mayor Jeff Olson spoke about the approved appointment at the village council meeting this week.
In late January, the council did vote for the appointment of Kathy Harrelson to the commissioner position, but that ended up in a 2-2 tie. Mark Victor, who has served on the Seneca Village Council in the past, will take over for Randy Timmons who retired earlier this year after 17 years on the council.
Timmons said he wanted to spend more time with friends and family members. Finance Commissioner Brennan Callahan said during a recent budget meeting that the village has collected all property taxes that are due this year and “the Motor Fuel Tax fund has seen an increase of $35,000 just with the increase in fuel tax this past summer.”
