The Dwight Village Board on Monday authorized an estimated payment in the amount of $11,500 for Fourth of July fireworks. The display will feature aerial fireworks minus the ground effects.
Village President Jared Anderson spoke of how the Fourth of July will differ from years past.
Watching the fireworks from village property is not permitted. Residents and community members are not encouraged to gather in groups.
Trustee Jerry Curtis doesn’t support the village board’s decision.
In a 4-1 vote, the village board moved ahead with funding the fireworks. Curtis was the lone dissenting vote, and Johnson was absent.
