An audit report shows the village of Diamond earned a clean opinion for fiscal year 2019-2020.
A presentation on this topic took place at last week’s meeting of the Diamond Village Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Teresa Kernc spoke of the village’s track record with audits.
Officials strive to ensure the village maintains reserve funds of $1 million or more year after year to use in the event of emergencies.
To date, the village has two outstanding bonds. Kernc said the village takes pride in being fiscally responsible with taxpayer dollars.
Also at the meeting, officials approved a pair of ordinances in connection to the development of a new Domino’s Pizza.
The establishment, once built, will be set up next to Busey Bank along Illinois Route 113. Kernc had this to say.
Kernc said she is not certain when the construction of Domino’s Pizza will begin.
