The Village of Channahon approved a new transportation agreement this week.
Channahon residents this year will continue to be able to take advantage of door-to-door service with PACE Paratransit, after an agreement between the village and PACE was approved by the Channahon village board earlier this week.
Any Channahon resident may reserve a ride with the service, which will take them to Joliet area destinations.
Channahon Village Administrator Thomas Durkin said at the meeting that only a handful of residents currently use the service, mostly for ride to and from medical facilities.
Last year, Channahon contributed $680 to the program, Durkin said, and he estimated the village will spend approximately $1,010 on it this year.
This year’s one-way fares for riders will remain the same, at $2 within the same municipality, $4 for the first 20 miles and an additional $1 per mile charger when the origin and destination are outside the municipality.
