A 32-year-old Verona woman has been arrested five times this year. Morris Police Chief John Severson said Kelsey Venecia was arrested after allegedly battering another woman at a business in the 600 block of Liberty Street and then she kicked a Morris Police Officer in the midsection while at the Grundy County Jail on March 1st.
LaSalle County court records show Venecia was arrested for domestic battery and resisting an officer in February, domestic battery on July 14th and for violating an order of protection on July 26th.
In the newest case, Severson said Venecia was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer after officers were called to a disturbance in the 900 block of East Benton Street around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, July 31st.
Venecia was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class four felony. Grundy County court records show Venecia’s bond has been set at $5,000.
If she were to post bond, Venecia must enter into an in-patient treatment program. She is due back in court on August 20th.
