A vehicle was struck by a train in Coal City around 8:20 p.m. on September 3rd.

The Coal City Police Department said a man driving a vehicle stopped at the intersection of East First Street and North First Avenue.

That’s when he turned south on North First Avenue and misjudged the turn becoming stuck on the tracks. 

Police officials say the vehicle was then struck by the train. The man was able to exit the vehicle and no injuries were reported. No tickets were issued.
