The US EPA will no longer be conducting air quality checks at the lithium battery fire site on the east side of Morris until foreseeable future.
That’s according to Morris Fire Chief Tracey Steffes who gave an update to WCSJ.
Steffes said he doesn’t know how long an agreement will take to iron between the attorneys involved.
More than 3000 people evacuated their homes due to the battery fire that occurred in late June. No injuries were reported and the fire still remains under investigation.
