The Grundy Economic Development Council recently released an update in regards to the Competitive Power Ventures Three Rivers Project construction timeline.

The update was provided by Nancy Norton with the GEDC.

At peak construction, more than 500 union workers will be onsite.

CPV Three Rivers Project Manager Mike Bruno said the 1,250-megawatt natural-gas-fueled electric generating facility will power up to 1.25 million homes and businesses in Northern Illinois.

Once operational, the energy center will require a staff of 25 full-time personnel and approximately 75 additional jobs will be created to provide ongoing services to the plant.

The 120-acre project site is south of the Dresden Generating Station in Goose Lake Township.
