Two residents who assisted the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office during an incident in Coal City last October were honored during the Grundy County Board meeting on Tuesday night.

During the meeting, Deputy Greg Butterfield explained what happened.

Butterfield continued describing the incident.

Butterfield was then assisted by several individuals at the scene.

Kenneth Comer from Braidwood and Bruce Bialorucki of Chatham, Illinois were given the 2019 Law Enforcement Outstanding Citizen Award.

The man who created the altercation was taken to the hospital and not arrested.
