Two individuals recently pled guilty to fleeing from police in Grundy County. Kacpar Klos, 22, of Chicago pled guilty to fleeing and eluding police, a class A misdemeanor and was placed on two years of conditional discharge. He must also serve 30 days of electronic monitoring.
Kaan Ayger, 22, of West Dundee pled guilty to fleeing and eluding police, a class A misdemeanor and was sentenced to 30 days of electronic monitoring. He was also placed on one year of conditional discharge. As part of the plea agreement, two counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police, both class four felonies were dropped.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Illinois State Police that both individuals were traveling at excessive speeds on Interstate 80, passing on the shoulder and in between vehicles on the center line on July 24th of 2022. An officer spotted the motorcycles and accelerated in pursuit. Klos and Aygar pull off onto the shoulder and the deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop. That’s when Aygar and Klos, both took off at high rates of speed.
In giving chase, the deputy reached a speed of 124 mph before no longer gaining on the motorcycles. Klos and Aygar went off the Seneca exit, failed to stop at a stop sign and then went behind an outbuilding. Klos and Aygar then surrendered a short time later. The Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by the Seneca Police Department.
