Two individuals were arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office in the 100 block of Arlington Drive in Diamond around 8:20 p.m. on May 21st. Vernon Howard, 46, of Diamond was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Michael Dennison, 33, of Diamond for Criminal Damage to Property.

Sheriff officials say Howard is accused of strangling a female household member and Dennison allegedly damaged her car by breaking windows out with a bat. Dennison was charged with criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor and remains free on bond.

Howard was charged with two counts of Aggravated Domestic Battery/Strangle, both class two felonies. He remains free on a $3,000 bond. Howard was also arrested by Grundy County authorities after allegedly strangling a female acquaintance somewhere in the Grundy County area on September 9th of 2021.

Those charges were dropped in December of 2022. However, Howard was sentenced to 30 months of probation on a felony resisting charge in Grundy County in December of 2022.
