A 36-year-old Tonica man has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The Grundy County State’s Attorney’s Office said David Willis pleaded guilty to an unlawful possession of cocaine charge, a class four felony, and received a two year prison term.
As part of the plea agreement, Willis was given credit for serving 204 days as his sentence will run concurrent with a case out of LaSalle County.
Prosecutors say Willis possessed less than one gram of cocaine.
They also say the prison sentence is based on Willis’ criminal history, which includes a burglary conviction in 2003 and insurance fraud in 2018.
Both convictions were in LaSalle County and resulted in prison terms.
