Three Grundy County residents have been arrested for allegedly forging checks at a business in the 1500 block of North Division in Morris.
Cody Miles, 21, of Gardner, Tara Wilson, 21, of Gardner, and Harley Trimble, 24, of Braceville were indicted for forgery by a Grundy County grand jury on January 10.
Investigators say Trimble allegedly forged a fake check at the business for $973 and Wilson for $923 on December 19, while Miles received $968 on December 18.
The Morris Police Department arrested Wilson on the day of her alleged transaction.
Police officials say the clerk at the business noticed the check was fake and held Wilson’s driver’s license as he planned to call the police.
Wilson then left the store and called the police, complaining the clerk kept her driver’s license.
Police believe there are similarities between the transactions and are investigating the connection.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department arrested Trimble on January 10 and Will County authorities arrested Miles on January 10, as well.
