Two more felony charges have been filed against a local teenager accused of stealing a Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputy’s squad car.
Michael Naughton, 18, of Morris was charged this week with Armed Robbery, a Class X felony and Aggravated Robbery, a Class 1 felony.
The Morris Police Department said Naughton allegedly entered into a gas station in the 1500 block of Route 47, went behind the counter displaying a knife and demanded cash from the drawer around 3:30 a.m. on September 13th.
After an investigation, the charges were filed this week. Naughton remains in the Grundy County Jail on a charge of Possession of a Stolen Firearm after a Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle was stolen with a gun inside last month. Naughton’s bond on that offense is $250,000.
If convicted on the Armed Robbery offense, Naughton could serve between 6 and 30 years in prison.
