Float entries for the Home for the Holidays parade are now being accepted.
The Home for the Holidays parade committee is inviting area businesses and residents who participated in the Corn Festival parade to “hold their floats” and register to be in this year’s Lighted Holiday Parade.
The parade takes place on Friday, November 29 starting at 5:30 p.m.
Julie Applegate with the Morris Downtown Development Partnership said anyone can participate in the parade that begins at the corner of Franklin and Washington Streets and concludes at Chapin Park with the annual lighting, wagon rides, and visits with Santa.
The only requirement for entry, said Applegate, is the use of lights - whether they be battery-powered, glow lights or electrical lights powered by generators and electrical inverters.
The holiday parade has been a staple on the Home for the Holidays calendar for many years, but the lighted nighttime parade has been an overwhelming success in most recent years, according to Applegate.
