The Coal City Police Department is investigating a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred at the Coal City Middle School at 6 p.m. on December 3rd.

Investigators say a black sport utility vehicle entered the parking lot and a large male wearing shorts and a hooded sweatshirt exited the vehicle.

The man then allegedly used a blunt object to break out the passenger side window of another vehicle parked in the middle school parking lot. A purse containing credit cards and keys were stolen.

Callers providing information to the Grundy County Crimestoppers line at 942-9667 will remain anonymous and rewards up to $5,000 are eligible for information that leads to an arrest.
