At the Seneca Village Council meeting two weeks ago, Public Health and Safety Commissioner David Higgins said he was going through the village’s older ordinances to clean up and update them.

Last night, the board approved a park board ordinance.

Last night, the village council approved an ordinance regarding park board meetings. The ordinance previously was scheduled to meet twice a year on the second Tuesday of March and September.

The board has been meeting the second Tuesday of every month for quite a while and now the ordinance stipulates it. The council also approved a the seating of a new park board member. Anna Allison has been appointed to fill a vacant seat with a term expiring in April 2022. Allison is the Children’s Librarian at the Seneca Public Library District.

“I’m sure that Anna will be a great asset to our Park Board,” Mayor Jeff Olson said.
