Seneca has joined the ranks of several small towns across America trying to win the attention of HGTV’s Home Town Take Over.

In November of 2019, HGTV announced plans for the spinoff show, in which stars Erin and Ben Napier will partner with a small town to renovate several historic homes, parks and public buildings.

Members of the Seneca Historical Guild, including President Jeff Maerhofer, put together a short video to convince the producers of the show that Seneca was worth the investment.

The video also highlights Seneca’s historic grain elevator, the I&M Canal and what they concede to be a dilapidated downtown. Seneca Mayor Jeff Olson said being selected for the show would be an amazing opportunity. He said revitalizing the downtown area has been one of his goals since entering office.

Home Town Takeover is set to air in 2021. You can view Seneca's submission here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OwUFgoPQSN4tz-n0uhkcMrvfVTsUiaYC/view
