A legislative commission is upholding new "culturally responsible" teaching standards. 38th District State Senator Sue Rezin was on WCSJ’s People are Talking Monday.
She said teachers will have to teach a diverse group of students and that the curriculum respects and includes a wide range of identities and cultures.
She also had this to say.
The new standards won't go into effect until 2025, so she said that gives districts time to educate staff members.
