The US Attorney’s Office recently announced they are investigating a bribery scheme involving ComEd. Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan allegedly used his position and influence to pass legislation to benefit the utility giant.
38th District State Senator Sue Rezin said Republican lawmakers have tried creating Ethic reforms in Springfield.
Rezin said Madigan needs to step down.
She also said several democrats in the area have been silent on the issue.
However, not all democrats have been silent. Oswego Democrat Stephanie Kifowit says she is confident in the justice system doing its job in the scandal.
A class-action lawsuit was filed in Cook County by three individuals and a Chicago-based company seeking $150 million in refunds against ComEd.
