It has been nearly a month since Illinois lawmakers were in session, but that could be changing in the future.

38th District State Senator Sue Rezin was on WCSJ’s People are Talking on Monday speaking about that issue. She said that lawmakers need to make a crucial vote on hospital care, but that they might find a way to reach a quorum without having all legislators present.

She thinks Illinois lawmakers should meet every other year to discuss important issues and not have constant sessions debating what she feels are less important issues.

During a press briefing yesterday, Governor JB Pritzker said he will be working with the General Assembly on potential new budget idea. The new fiscal year starts July 1st.
