The Illinois Department of Public Health recently issued a warning about four COVID-19 hot spots, which includes LaSalle County.
As of July 24th, there were 389 confirmed Covid-19 cases in LaSalle County. Of these, 165 cases or 42.4% of the total have been confirmed since the beginning of July and emergency room visits for COVID-like illness have more than doubled over the last few weeks.
State Senator Sue Rezin was on WCSJ’s People are Talking this week speaking about the increase in cases.
However, she said people have not been following the guidelines.
Grundy County is averaging five new cases per day in the past week and had 11 total cases last Wednesday.
Rezin said a vaccine should be available by January or February of 2021.
