79th District State Rep. Lindsay Parkhurst is continuing her program to help bring Valentines to Veterans.
The Valentines for Veterans program, which was started by Parkhurst two years ago, asks interested students and citizens to participate in making handmade valentine greetings with well-wishes to veterans who served our country with pride.
Parkhurst said she started the program in 2017 to ensure veterans are not forgotten on any holiday, saying this is the public’s chance to show veterans the love and appreciation they deserve.
Valentines should be delivered to Parkhurst’s office at 370 E. Court Street in Kankakee by Feb. 8 and all ages are invited to create a card or drawing.
The cards will be delivered to 79th District veterans at the Manteno Veteran’s Home in time for Valentine’s Day.
