The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a railroad crossing closing in Dwight.
The Illinois Route 47 Norfolk Southern Railway grade crossing in Dwight will be closed on Monday, June 24.
Rt. 47 will be closed for approximately 10 days to allow the Norfolk Southern Railway to rebuild their crossing.
Traffic detours at the closed crossing are as follows: IL-47 northbound traffic will proceed west on IL-17 to Old US 66, then north on Old US 66 back to IL-47 and IL-47 southbound traffic will proceed southwest on Old US 66 to IL-17, then east on IL-17 and back to IL-47.
Motorists are urged to use caution and expect some delays while traveling on the detour route.
