The number of people sentenced to probation in Grundy County continues to be about the same year over year.
The Grundy County Law and Justice Committee last week heard from Mark Krueger, Director of Probation Services, about the number of people on probation in Grundy County.
Grundy County State’s Attorney Jason Helland had this question for Krueger in regards to the figures.
Krueger explains how the Probation Department operates.
He said the county general fund is used only a few times.
According to the Grundy County Circuit Clerk’s Office, 68 people were sent to the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2018, which is down from 83 the previous year, but is in line with the ten-year average.
