The public is invited to register for an online presentation on plans to repair the historic Nettle Creek Aqueduct on the Illinois and Michigan Canal in Morris.
The Nettle Creek Aqueduct, first constructed between 1844 and 1847 as part of the I&M Canal, experienced an unexpected failure during severe flooding in 2013.
DNR Site Superintendent of the Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail Dan Bell spoke about the presentation set for this Thursday.
Bell also had this to report.
Bell said bidding for the project will be in 2021 and construction will be completed sometime in 2023.
The presentation on the project is scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
