The Morris Judiciary and License Committee on Monday discussed the possibility of outdoor sidewalk, limited on-street and city alley dining for businesses this summer.
Morris Mayor Dick Kopczick said the ordinance started in June of 2020 and expired last October.
The ordinance was put in place to help businesses expand their options during the pandemic. Kopczick said the committee heard from a resident about if and when that will be happening again this year.
Kopczick said the committee is looking at outdoor dining for another year or making it permanent.
Morris Downtown Development Partnership Executive Director Julie Applegate was at the meeting and asked if the committee had a time frame for when this would start.
Committee member Herb Wyeth said they are discussing the ordinance and the topic could be on the agenda in the future.
