An Ottawa woman was arrested Sunday for Drug-Induced Homicide in connection with an incident that occurred in Ottawa on Feb. 5.
According to the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Heather Reynolds of Ottawa is charged with Class X felony Drug-Induced Homicide.
Ottawa Police officers were dispatched to a motel in the 1200 blk. of LaSalle St. on Feb. 5 for a subject who may have overdosed.
The victim, Jacalyn Norris, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was conducted and further toxicology reports indicated Norris’ death was a result of fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl intoxication.
On Mar. 12, Ottawa Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Reynolds and bail was in the amount of $1,000,000, with 10% to apply.
On March 29, 2020, Reynolds was taken into custody by Ottawa Police while dispatched to an unrelated call at 120 W. Stevenson Rd.
Reynolds was taken to the LaSalle County Jail for booking.
