The Minooka Fire Department, Channahon Fire Department and Grundy County Emergency Management Agency responded to a train derailment involving tank cars on South Tabler Road near the Aux Sable Liquid Product property shortly before nine on October 3rd.

The Minooka Fire Department said upon arrival three rail tanker cars derailed with a couple of the rail cars across South Tabler Road.

Aux Sable Liquid Products representatives told first responders that there was no leak from the rail cars and the cars were empty. Fire officials say no injuries or evacuations were reported.

South Tabler Road will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time while the train cars are removed from the road and the Grundy County Highway Department has an opportunity to survey and repair damage to the road.

The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
