A three-year contract for incoming Superintendent Craig Ortiz was approved by the Morris High School Board of Education on Thursday night.
Ortiz was hired by the board in March and he has been working as a Math Teacher for the district the past 22 years.
Ortiz told WCSJ he will be paid $140,000 in his first year with two and a half percent increases each of the next two years.
Ortiz is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and received his superintendent certification and Doctor of Education from the University of St. Francis.
Ortiz will replace Interim Superintendent Pat Halloran on July 1st of 2019.
