The Illinois State Police, Morris Fire Department and Grundy County Sheriff’s Office responded to a few accidents on Interstate 80 late last night.

According to Grundy County Dispatch, the first accident occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 between Morris and Brisbin Road involving multiple vehicles around 10:40 p.m.

Nearly 30 minutes later, fire officials over the police scanner said a semi truck struck a tow truck that had responded to the first accident. It is unknown if any injuries were reported.

Westbound lanes of Interstate 80 between Brisbin Road and the Morris exit were shutdown for several hours and have since reopened. The accidents remain under investigation.
