A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Livingston County at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th.
The Illinois State Police said a 2010 Jeep driven by Tyler Blackard, 20, of Pontiac was westbound on East 1830 North Road when he failed to stop at the Route 66 intersection and struck a 2002 Suzuki operated by Richard Vaughn, 77, of Dwight.
Police officials say Vaughn was traveling southbound on Route 66. Blackard and a 15-year-old passenger in his vehicle were not injured. Police officials say the intersection was closed for approximately four hours.
Blackard was issued citations for failure to yield at a stopped intersection and fail to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
